Varavoor

Varavoor is a village in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. It’s known for its rich history and natural surroundings.​Historically, Varavoor was part of the ancient Chera Kingdom and was later invaded by Tipu Sultan. It’s home to the Thirumathaliyappan temple, a well-preserved example of ancient temple architecture.The village has a diverse cultural and religious landscape, with Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity all being practiced.Varavoor gained recognition for becoming the first Grama Panchayat in the state to have a comprehensive “Net Plan,” a development project focused on watershed management and sustainable practices.
