Varavoor is a village in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. It’s known for its rich history and natural surroundings.Historically, Varavoor was part of the ancient Chera Kingdom and was later invaded by Tipu Sultan. It’s home to the Thirumathaliyappan temple, a well-preserved example of ancient temple architecture.The village has a diverse cultural and religious landscape, with Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity all being practiced.Varavoor gained recognition for becoming the first Grama Panchayat in the state to have a comprehensive “Net Plan,” a development project focused on watershed management and sustainable practices.
